Behind The Scenes (Part 1) [SPOLIERS]

First off I want to say a big thank you for everybody who has played the experience and has enjoyed my concept. It been awesome to see the reception and I thought it would be nice to create some dev logs, to show some behind scenes concepts over the next few weeks. So follow the page to get updates to whenever I upload a new blog post. But without further ado, let's get into it.

For context, this project was entirely a university assignment which I had to create, and only 4 months to make it. There were many ideas I wanted the experience to feature, but ultimately had to cut back a lot of cool content, which I'm reserving for the sequel which will begin production, right now as you read through this blog post. As a final note, there will not be any other updates to the experience, as the concept has served it's purpose, and now I'm looking towards creating a sequel, which will be a fully fleshed out experience.

The attached photos are screen shots of some of the concept art for the game. The images themselves are pretty straight forward as part of my criteria was to make concept art that anybody could pick up and immediately get a sense of what the direction would be, for the project.  The concept which features the park layout, tree and bush ideas, was originally going to be the big open area, many people have found. The idea was an escape from reality, so to speak, make you feel you had broken away from the confines of the dark and eerie corridors that you were navigating. I ultimately decided against this idea, as I really had no idea how I was going to make a convincing park location within the layout of the environment, with the time I had. Add on top all the other things I had to worry about, like getting the 3D models, sound, lighting, and it become a great idea to change the environment into an unfinished location; throw in some cheeky dialogue painted on the walls, and the end result was that I made an area where you could feel like you were exploring,  just like the original park idea, but cutting development time in half.

I'll leave the post at that, but I've got many more stories to tell which I will periodically release so make sure to follow this page to get the newest updates.

Thank you for all the support! Spread the word and remember, Fear, Is in the Mind.
